Our History
PALS is located in Willmar, Minnesota, where we market animal health supplies and equipment. Our story starts with the turkey growers who founded Willmar Poultry Company.
PALS: Poultry and Livestock Supplies
Willmar Poultry Company opened its doors in July of 1945 as Willmar Poultry and Egg Company. Founders Albin Norling, Albert Huisinga and Herman Nelson were turkey farmers who didn’t believe processors were paying growers a fair price – so they took processing into their own hands.
In 1955, PALS formed as a separate company to specialize in supplying the equipment and medication local growers needed to raise their birds. We eventually expanded out of poultry to include equipment for the area hog industry.
Today our staff has over 200 years of combined experience serving customers across the upper Midwest – feed and medication, barn sales, project development, installation and maintenance.
Willmar Poultry and Egg Company opens.
PALS forms to supply equipment and medication to local growers.
Willmar Poultry Farms incorporates as a separate company.
PALS expands into equipment for the area hog industry.
A Life-Science Innovations affiliate serving poultry and hog producers across the upper Midwest.
